Suite of publications

We worked with the National Health and Medical Research Council to the produce the Australian Dietary Guidelines, which comprises a suite of documents and sites for different audiences.

We’ve worked with the Clinical Excellence Commission to design, write and produce its Rising to Excellence series as part of its quality systems assessment. The Statewide Report and Supplementary Report are two of 14 reports for different readerships.

In a highly technical project, we designed the communications approach for HealthShare NSW, which wanted to report to 17 local health districts how it would charge them for services over the next financial year. We produced 60 reports, including statewide reports for HealthShare NSW and for eHealth NSW.

Academic work

Mark has co-written:

Translational work

In a highly significant series of projects, we worked with the Cancer Council NSW and NSW Health to examine the issue of smoking in disadvantaged groups – initially in people with mental illness, and later with prisoners. We produced literature reviews and academic papers, as above, but also provided workshops around the state and advocacy. This work contributed to national efforts, particularly in NSW and South Australia, to reduce smoking among people with mental illness via the education and support of health professionals, health service managers and community workers.

Mark is co-author of two influential publications for the National Health and Medical Research Council:

Mark has written a novel, The Dickinson Papers, published by Random House.

We have produced Fine but not fair and Mental health matters as tools to promote better health care.
